YouTube for iPad is an American video-sharing website created by the three PayPal employees namely Chad Hurley, Jawed Karim and Steve Chen in February 2005. It allows the users to upload, view, rate, share, add to their favourites, report and comment on videos, subscribe to other users, and it makes use of WebM, H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, and Adobe Flash Video technology to display a wide variety of user-generated and corporate media videos. The available site content includes video clips, TV show clips, music videos, short and documentary films, audio recordings, movie trailers and other content such as video blogging, short original videos, educational videos and much more. Individuals have uploaded most of the content on YouTube for iPad, but media corporations including CBS, the BBC, Vevo, and Hulu offers some of their material via the YouTube as part of the YouTube partnership program.
In November 2006, Google bought the Youtube site for US$1.65 billion and now it operates as obe of the Google’s subsidiaries.
